The foundation is quarried granite rather than fieldstone. Does that matter?
It changes where failure happens. Cut granite is dimensionally sound and will outlast anything poured, but it is set in thin lime joints, and the joints are what take the weather. On a wall like this the stone is almost never the problem and the mortar almost always is.
It has changed hands many times and had very little done. What does that leave?

The foundation is solid stone. Is that better or worse than concrete?
